Chito Cleofas went through the discriminating eyes of Manilas photo and art critics and mentors to become what he is today. Before turning pro, he topped over a hundred national and international photo competitions, at one point earning P340,000 in one year in prize money.
Almost anybody can be trained to cover a wedding, but only a handful have the talent and artistic flair to deliver photographs that go beyond a literal visual transcription of the event. Chito Cleofas is one of them.
Chitos photographs have appeared on the covers of expensive books and in glossy magazines. A contest entry was unanimously chosen for the cover of Flowers of Baguio by its New York-based author, Reynaldo Alejandro, and the local publisher; another photograph landed on the cover of Visions of the Possible by well-known writer and critic Felice Sta. Maria. Chito has also been published in the award-winning Philippines Yearbook, Mega magazine and Mirror magazine.
He is an associate member of the Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines, an association composed exclusively of professionals in the field.
